Initially uncertain about modeling, Yukari quickly discovers her talent and self-confidence on the runway and in front of the camera, while also finding herself attracted to George, the seemingly epicene leader of the fashion school group. The center of attention is straight-A senior Yukari and her internal struggles: Yukari's family is pushing her towards a university education and a conservative business career, but a twist of fate gives her the opportunity to model clothing for an offbeat group of students at a local fashion school who've dubbed themselves Paradise Kiss. In fact, Paradise Kiss is about as close to real life as anime gets. Here's a high school-themed anime without aliens, slapstick, or young women who look like Russ Meyer fantasies. ![]()
